This tutorial was written 5th May, 2007 by Trixie.

 

For this tutorial you will need the following:
PSP9 but can be achieved using any version
A graphic of your choice
Dark Gold Pattern here
Corners of your choice
Simple Filters
Penta Filters
Greg's Factory Output Vol. II
Plugins can be downloaded here
 
Right click and save the dark gold pattern to your pattern folder.
 
O.k........Let's get started!
 
 1.    Open up the graphic you will be framing in PSP.  Go to Window/Duplicate and close the original.
 
 2.    Resize the graphic if necessary.
 
 3.    Image/Add border - 2px symmetric - using a colour that is not in your graphic.
 
 4.    Select border with Magic Wand - using these settings:
 
5.    Flood Fill with Dark Gold Pattern - using these settings:
  Keep Selected.
 
 6.    Selections/Invert.
 
 7.    Effects/3d Effects/Cutout - using these settings:
 
8.    Repeat Cutout but this time, change the V & H to
-2 (minus 2).
 
9.    Using the Dropper Tool , select a colour from your graphic and make it your Background colour in the Materials Pallet.
 
10.    Image/Add border - 10px symmetric - using your background colour.
 
11.    Select border with Magic Wand - same settings as above.
 
12.    Effects/Plugins/Penta/Dot and Cross - using these settings:
 
13.    Effects/Plugins/FM Tile Tools/Blend Emboss - using these settings:
 
14.    Selections/Select None.
 
15.    Image/Add border - 2px, symmetric, white.
 
16.    Select border with Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Dark Gold Pattern.
 
17.    Selections/Select None.
 
18.    Image/Add border - 20 px, symmetric using Background colour.
 
19.    Select border with Magic Wand.
 
20.    Effects/Plugins/Greg's Vol. II/Pool Shadow - using these settings:
 
21.    Selections/Select None.
 
22.    Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5.
 
23.    Repeat Steps 10, 11 and 12 but this time change the Size of the Brodere III to 10 instead of 15 - Control remains as 0.
 
24.    Repeat Steps 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.
 
25.    Activate your corner - Edit/Copy - Activate your framed graphic - Edit/Paste as New Layer.
 
26.    Using the Mover Tool , place the Corner in the Top Left corner of your graphic as shown:
 
27.    Effects/Plugins/Simple Filters/Top Left Mirror.  You should now have a Corner in all four corners of your Frame.
 
28.    Resize your framed graphic if necessary, add your Watermark and you're done!
