This tutorial was written on 5th December, 2004 by Trixie.

 

For this tutorial you will need the following:

PSP 8 - can be achieved using PSP7

Redfield Lattice Composer Plugin here

A graphic of your choice

Gold Tile here - save to your patterns folder.

 

1.  Open up the graphic you will be framing.  Go to Window/Duplicate and close the original.  Resize graphic if necessary.

 

2.  Load up your Gold tile in the foreground of your materials palette.

Angle 0

Scale 100

 

3.  Choose a medium colour from your graphic and load it into the background as shown below:

 

4.  Go to Image/Add Border 2px symmetrical with a colour that's not in your graphic.

 

5.  With your Magic Wand select the border and Flood Fill with Gold using these settings:

RGB Value

Tolerance 0

Sample merged - unchecked

Feather 0

Anti-alias - unchecked

 

6.  Go to Selections/Invert.

 

7.  Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cutoiut and use these settings:

Vertical 0

Horizontal 0

Opacity 90

Blur 10

Colour Black

Fill interior with colour - unchecked

 

8.  Deselect.

 

9.  Image/Add Border 1px Black.

 

10.  Image/Add Border 2px any colour except black.

 

11.  Select border with Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Gold.

 

12.  Deselect.

 

13.  Image/Add Borders 20px - right click on the Colour window and select the Background colour that you chose from your graphic and click o.k.

 

14.  Select the border with your Magic Wand.

 

15.  Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds - Click on Presets at the top and select Preset "On TV" from the drop down menu.  Use the default settings with colour Black.

 

16.  Edit/Repeat Blinds.  Keep selected.

 

17.  Go to Effects/3D Effects/ Inner Bevel and use these settings:

 

18.  Deselect.

 

19.  Go to Image/Add Borders 2px any colour but not the last colour you used.

 

20.  Select border with the Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Gold.

 

21.  Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use these settings:

Vertical and Horizontal 1

Opacity 100

Blur 1

Colour Black

 

22.  Repeat Drop Shadow changing the Vertical and Horizontal to -1 (minus 1).

 

23.  Deselect.

 

24.  Image/Add Borders 1px Black.

 

25.  Image/Add Borders 2px any colour except black.

 

26.  Select with Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Gold.

 

27.  Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow, same as before.

 

28.  Repeat Drop Shadow changing Vertical and Horizontal to -1 (minus 1).

 

29.  Deselect.

 

30.  Image/Add Borders 25px using the colour you chose from your graphic.

 

31.  Select border with Magic Wand.

 

32.  Go to Effects/Plugins/Redfield/Lattice Composer and select the "Weaved 4" Preset from the drop down menu and click Apply.  Keep selected.

 

33.  Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel, same settings as before.

 

34.  Deselect.

 

35.  Image/Add Borders 1px Black.

 

36.  Add corners and watermark if you wish and you're done!
