This tutorial was written by Trixie 15th February, 2005. 

 

For this tutorial you will need the following:

PSP 8 but can be achieved using any other version.

Bordermania Plugin here

A graphic of your choice.

Supplies here

 

o.k. let’s get started.

 

1.        Open up your graphic in PSP.  Duplicate and close the original.

 

2.        Minimise the Gold Pattern and the Corners.

 

3.        Load the Gold Pattern in your Materials Foreground.

 

4.        Image – add a 2px white border and select with Magic Wand (tolerance 0).

 

5.        Flood fill with Gold Pattern.  Keep selected.

 

6.        Effects/3d Effects/Cut-out and use these settings.

7.        Repeat Cut-out but change Vertical & Horizontal to minus –2.

 

8.        Select/Select none.

 

9.        Image – add 1px black border.

 

10.  Image -  add 2px white border.  Select with Magic Wand and flood fill with Gold Pattern.

 

11.  Select/Select none.

 

12.  Using the Dropper Tool, select a light colour from your image. 

13.  Image – add a 5px border using the light colour that you chose from your image and select border with Magic Wand.

 

14.  Effects/Plug-ins/Border Mania/Frame 2 and use these settings:

Click o.k.

15.  Select/Select none.

 

16.  Image – add a 5px black border.

 

17.  Image – add a 2px white border, select with Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Gold Pattern.

 

18.  Select/Select none.

 

19.  Image – add a 10px black border and select with Magic Wand.

 

20.  Effects/Plug-ins/Border Mania/Frame 2 and use same settings as before.

 

21.  Select/Select none.

 

22.  Image – add a 2px white border, select with Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Gold Pattern.

 

23.  Select/Select none.

 

24.  Image – add a 1px black border.

 

25.  Image – add a 2px white border, select with Magic Wand and Flood Fill with Gold Pattern.

 

26.  Select/Select none.

 

27.  Image – add a 30px black border.

 

28.  Repeat steps 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26.

 

29.  Now for the corners.  Open up the Corners in your workspace and right click on the blue bar of the corners image/click on Copy.

 

30.  Now right click on the blue bar of your framed graphic/click on Paste as New Layer.

 

31.  With your mover tool, place the corner in the left top corner of your frame.

 

32.  Layers/Duplicate.

 

33.  Image/Mirror.

 

34.  Layers/Duplicate.

 

35.  Image/Flip. 

 

36.  Layers/Duplicate.

 

37.  Image/Mirror.

 

You should now have a gold floral corner in each corner of your frame.

 

38.  Layers/Merge/Merge all Flatten.

 

39.  Resize to suit.  Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen.

 

40.  Add your watermark save as jpg and voila! You’re done!
